1639: Thomas Tallant, our “detective“, is a spice merchant who has returned from India to discover his country in unrest between King Charles I and Parliament, and on the brink of a civil war. To top that, a competing merchant drops dead and later his partner falls to his death down Tallant's staircase. Tom is suspected in both murders and must discover the killer before he goes to jail. A fast-paced and informative read. #BookedinTime @Cuilin 🩵

Several of the books I've read lately have been very good. This is another one. It's an historical mystery about 17th century England. Great pacing and characters. 5 ❤
