Fear the Darkness | Becky Masterman
4 posts | 8 read | 3 to read
Brigid Quinn has been shot at, stabbed in the spleen with a nail file and used as serial-killer bait. But she's always been able to trust her instincts and her FBI-training to help her out of danger. Now, retired from the Bureau and investigating the tragic death of a neighbour's teenage son, Brigid starts to suffer unexplained bouts of paranoia, hallucination and memory loss. And for the first time in her life, she feels vulnerable. But with a mass poisoning at the church, a dead man found in town and a grieving family convinced their son's death wasn't an accident, Brigid needs to put the pieces together - fast. Because evil has entered her life once more, and it's much closer than she thinks . . .

#2022Book3
This book was so much better than the first in the series. The characters' actions are more believable and Masterman throws in enough red herrings that it's not always easy to know who to trust at any given moment.

#94 of my year. This is book 2 in the Brigid Quinn series. I absolutely loved the first book and was pleasantly surprised that it was part of a series so I bought the first 3 books!

Caffeinated_Reader I absolutely love the writing style of Becky Masterman. The character Brigid Quinn is excellent. She‘s so witty, tuff, mysterious, and badass! I like how the story spun out of control and left me suspecting one group of people in order to distract from the less obvious suspect. Man she‘s a fantastic writer. 5y

Second in the Brigid Quinn (who is over 50) series. Good thriller about an ex FBI agent living in Arizona.

Lindy What bingo category did you count for this one? Just curious. 8y
SarahK @Lindy protagonist over the age of 50. She actually says at one point that she is almost 60. 8y
