What a cool book! It‘s too bad this collection has been sold and spread far and wide.

Is it strange that as an animal lover I‘m fascinated by taxidermy? I‘m into oddities of all kinds. These were done in the 1800‘s, and many are large anthropomorphic scenes, such as bunnies in school as depicted on the cover. There are freaks here too.

I loved this, and it will live in my coffee table stack for others to enjoy!

Starting the morning at 8 hours in to the #24B42019 readathon. I read Sadako last night before bed. I‘m sticking to shorter books for now to try and finish a few more off Mount TBR before the New Year!

Today's NYT had a story about this exhibit at the Morbid Anatomy Museum in New York City. The tableaux are from the half-creepy-half-enchanted imagination of the Victorian Taxidermist, Walter Potter. I didn't know there was a book about him...

I ordered this book today. It just reminded me so much of something Jenny Lawson would have. I couldnt help myself. So weird and inexplicable.
