I liked the spin on the Baba Yaga story. I didn't like the way the drama just kept piling on. It was fine, but I don't think I'll continue with the series.

This is a weird one to review. Right up until the 50% mark this book was great.... And then everything after the 50% mark had me literally yelling at it. The police work is wrong. The big tough protagonists go reactionary. They have no plan, ever. I listened to thw audio which didn't help because the narrator read in an incredibly perky voice. It starts with such potential but man does it flame out hard.
If you are looking for a fun romp of a book this is it. Be prepared to laugh a lot. The mystery in this book is pretty good, but the real fun comes from the character interactions. This one is a fun popcorn read (something to make a boring day a little better).
A fun, paranormal romance with the main character being a Baba Yaga; a title carried by a chosen few, not one person. A modern take on the witch of Russian fairy tales that has Baba living with Chudo-Yudo, a big dog (but a small dragon) in an enchanted Airstream trailer. I enjoyed the ways they tied the Baba folklore to the modern world.

Getting in a little reading before my sister picks me up to go to the movies. I'm enjoying the first Baba Yaga novel. Haven't read a series in awhile and I'm enjoying knowing the characters will be around when I want to come back. Plus Baba Yaga. 😁
