Tools who live in tool houses 😆
I wanted to love this book, and I did like the characters, but it was bit of a let down. There were no clues that I could follow, and it seemed like the answers just appeared from nowhere. I like her writing, and I'm hoping the series can improve with the next book, especially since Xhex seems to be playing a part in this story. I'm wondering if these characters will weave their way into some of the BDB books as well.
I basically added these books to my TBR list on title alone. I'm loving these punny witch/magic titles.

This was a lovely book about three generations of women trying to process the death of a loved one. No one's coping well, and Leena and her grandmother decide to trade houses, and lives, for two months in order to change things up. I really enjoyed the grandmother's POV, as that's not something I read a lot of, and it made me think about what we assume about and how we treat older people.

Loved the tone in this one, and so easy to read. I finished it in just two days. And she managed to actually help me figure out something about investing, which no other money book has managed to do. Plus some useful info about taxes and insurance, etc. I didn't find the budget part particularly enlightening, as I already know a lot about that, but all in all a great financial help book.
I was worried about how this book would be, but I shouldn't have been. It reminded me why I liked the Kate Daniels series so much. The snark, as always, was on point. I laughed my ass off and enjoyed the trip back to this world. I'm really hoping for another book to follow.

This was so great. The music references were awesome and I could barely put it down. I haven't enjoyed a YA this much in quite a while.
Congrats @britt_brooke on hitting that milestone! Thanks for the chance at this giveaway.

I went up to Carlsbad to kayak on the lagoon for my birthday a few days ago, which was a lot of fun. I've only gone kayaking one other time 12 years ago, so it definitely took some getting used to. The waterproof camera does not take fantastic pictures, though.

Read a lot of classic lit? Enjoy a good parody? If you answered yes, this book is for you!
Ex.: Lady Macbeth could use a good stain remover, Oedipus is working on his family tree, Elizabeth threw a sheep at Mr. Darcy, etc.
Listen to Neil Gaiman talk about books, libraries, knowledge, and creating art? Hell yes!

The top picture is me with the one plant I own, because I do not have a green thumb. I've managed to keep it alive for a year, but it hasn't really grown either. The bottom left is my roommate's succulent garden, and the one on the right is another plant she has in our backyard.

The house party at Admiral Burgess's on the south coast of Kent was so tedious and awful that Diana Worthing's abduction by a notorious pirate hunter in the middle of it came as something of a relief.

I had a few issues with the writing and was a little confused by the weird side issue with the siblings, but otherwise I loved this book. Great story, great characters. I'll definitely be checking out more of these.

Gail Carriger creates fantastic characters, and this book was filled with them. At some point I'm going to have to reread the Finishing School series and then this series so that I can better remember the characters.
