The Universe and Dr. Einstein
The Universe and Dr. Einstein | Albert Einstein, Lincoln Barnett
3 posts | 5 read | 3 to read
Acclaimed by Einstein himself, this is among the clearest, most readable expositions of relativity theory. It explains the problems Einstein faced, the experiments that led to his theories, and what his findings reveal about the forces that govern the universe. 1957 edition.

Pickpick

Book #6 of the year:

“…as Einstein has pointed out, common sense is actually nothing more than a deposit of prejudices laid down in the mind… Every new idea…one encounters in later years must combat this accretion of “self-evident” concepts.”

Very old, a little outdated, but still a quick and pretty user friendly explanation of Einstein‘s work and what it means for our understanding of the universe.

This is my #24in48 first pick! I just woke up and ready to enjoy coffee with some light reading. I'm reading this simply because the cover says "The clearest, most readable book on Einstein's theories ever published." I chose it because this copy belonged to my aunt who passed away in the 1990's - she loved science and has notes in the margins - so I'll be sharing coffee with her as well. ?#readathon
