"So, what's it like to be a cat?" I'm very glad you asked me that. Are cats afraid of the dark? Where do they prefer to sleep? What time do cats eat their breakfast? And what do they "really" think of dogs (and people!)? The award-winning team of Karla Kuskin and Betsy Lewin explore the secret inner lives of felines in this beguiling question-and-answer interview between an intrepid child and a very clever cat.

This book is a poem that is in the form of an interview between a boy and his cat. The boy asks the cat about things like where does he sleep, what does he like to do, and is he afraid of the dark. The cat answers all of these questions and makes it clear that he would not ever like to be anything but a cat.

This book is about a boy and a cat that have a conversation with each other. The boy is asking the cat so many things about what it‘s actually like to be a cat. The cat replies with all the amazing things that it does during its life and day teaching the boy all about it. This is a great book that has lots of rhyming in it. It would definitely be a great book to have in the classroom that is an example of poetry!
