This is for two books. I wonder how much I‘d owe if I did that today!

There‘s a Little Free Library in town near son‘s piano lessons, and from it, I scored this short story collection by Grace Paley. I did put a book in the LFL. I forgot to take The Luminaries with me to read tonight!

ETA: this is the beginning of the short story “Wants”.

ValerieAndBooks @Puredragonstar 😱! Unless the book is rare/out of print, the library might be better off asking for how much it would cost to replace the book. 7y

ValerieAndBooks @Bookwm85forever $18,000 is a scary huge amount and possibly a lot of missing Books! ! Is that from the very beginning of the library, or just in the past few years? 7y

Bookwm85forever @ValerieAndBooks I honestly don‘t know if it‘s from many years past. I do know many fines are from missing dvds and lost or damaged material. Some patrons rack up fines then refuse to pay them. They later use another family member‘s cards and repeat the process. 7y
