Careful What You Wish For
Careful What You Wish For | Leighann Dobbs, Lisa Fenwick
2 posts | 1 read
Harper Sullivan has one wish - to catch the person sabotaging O'Rourke Signature Events. She needs to make up for her past actions and she can't stand the thought of anyone hurting her feisty, generous boss Gertie O'Rourke. Lucky thing she has the perfect person to help - her uncle Tanner. He should know how to catch someone hell bent on destruction since he's a master at it himself. When Harper catches the new guy, Logan Carter, doing something suspicious, she thinks she has discovered the culprit. Undercover P. I., Logan Carter didn't take Gertie O'Rourke seriously at first, but now he's starting to think there may be something to the kooky old lady's accusations that someone is trying to ruin her business. He's grown fond of Gertie and wants to see her succeed, but when he sees Harper Sullivan doing something she shouldn't, he can't bring himself to turn her in right away. It has nothing to do with the way her red curls make his heart beat faster, either. Accusing someone of tampering is serious and he wants to be certain. But as Harper and Logan set out to prove each other is the culprit, they soon realize the threat is more sinister than either of them suspects... not just to O'Rourke Signature Events but also to their hearts.

Bailedbailed

Bailed at 52%. It was painful and I couldn‘t force myself to continue. Terribly written characters, weak plot, and dumb diagnose. And it‘s not like I had any expectations going into it. It‘s books like these that make me wonder about the publishing world because how?

RayHallucinogen I'd rather suffer through it than bail it. Then I can call those things rubbish, and elaborate on it. It's a curse 4y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Was this a self-published book? I see lots of quality gripes about them. 4y
wanderinglynn @RayHallucinogen 😂 that‘s one way. For me, my TBR is too large to waste precious reading time on books I‘m not enjoying. 4y
wanderinglynn @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Leighann Dobbs is a published writer. That being said, IMO, her books are all on the cheesy, crappy side. 4y

#weekend reads

1. Tagged. I started it Friday, trying to squeeze in one more book for July, but alas, I didn‘t finish it. Will try to finish it today.
2. Most recent fave to recommend is The House In the Cerulean Sea
3. I did a vlog #readingrush wrap-up about the 7 books I read for reading rush week.
