“This book is just sublime...I loved every page.” Caitriona Balfe, star of Outlander. (quote on book jacket) Caitriona chose this for her Book Club. It is a fast paced novel written in free verse. Ana is a young mother who is ending an affair. A tale of infidelity and tragedy. There are surprises. I was intrigued by the Live Twitter Space, and the Book Chat also on Twitter. Fascinated by the modernity of book promotion!

Lonely and grieving, Ana seeks to befriends her dead lover‘s wife. This one somehow feels slightly devastating instead of the gut punch I was expecting.

Sometimes it is wonderful to slowly realize that the main character is deeply flawed and unlikable. I flew through this novel written in verse. The way the author weaved different timelines to reveal this story about betrayal and loss was masterful. 4.5 🌟

This is my first book written in verse. Once I got used to it, the rest was smooth sailing. Although the MC, Ana, was the furthest thing from likeable, this book was an engrossing page turner. Connor was pretty awful, too. Poor Rebecca and Paul, though. I loved them both. Ana did not deserve Paul's kindness, patience, or understanding, and the last page made me so mad. Ana is such a selfish, obsessive, and unstable character.

Written in verse, it took me a little while to settle into this. It‘s kind of tragic, but something about it appealed to me. It‘s different and you can feel the heartbreak in it.

Anna and Connor meet are having an affair, then tragically Connor dies in an accident. Anna can't talk to many people about her grief. So she befriends the wife of her lover.
It is a short book and written in verse so makes for a fast read. They are not the nicest of characters, I felt partucularly bad for Anna's husband, as he seemed ok. I did enjoy the book a lot. I did like the way it was written. #bookcovers

I picked this purely because I loved the cover. First time reading this author - writing style is quick and easy reading BUT it does not flow, she might as well of written it in dot point form. Loved the story just wasn't a fan of the execution
