I‘ve had this since it came out but hadn‘t got around to reading it. A cemetery‘s residence give us a short story of their lives. ❤️

Not quite as engaging as the two translated novels I‘ve read by Seethaler, but it does have a few transplendent moments. Overall mood is melancholy, with the dead of a village recounting memories of their lives. Each character is a chapter and they are loosely connected to each other. Perhaps the lack of cohesion is why I‘d didn‘t enjoy it as much as his novels. These are more like short stories.

Why I love Seethaler‘s writing.

I have a green thing going on here that I didn‘t plan.

Now off for Nancy Drew time and the cover of that has beautiful teal greens too.

👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I refused to wait for this to be available in the states so I ordered from Book Depository. I hope my expectations aren‘t too high because I loved A Whole Life and The Tobacconist. Seethaler is one of a handful auto-buy authors for me.
