Lapis Luna Zinfandel pairs well with a book where the color red and red liquid play a prominent role. The book is a bit dated in many ways & not really PC by today‘s standards and the medical stuff often made me 🥴but it‘s still an enjoyable bit of sci-Fi horror. Also, why was I reading this when I was 11?

Started a re-read of Christopher Pike‘s “A Season of Passage”, a favorite from my youth. The most basic plot of the book revolves around a U.S. manned mission to Mars, but it‘s a sci-fi/horror book that also involves a story within a story. I recommend you check it out if that sounds like your wheelhouse, but fair warning, it was originally written in the 70s & after 17 pages I suspect some things may not hold up very well.

A great book for #season what's better than Vampires from Mars mixed with some Indian themes mythology #igreadathon #deweys24hourreadathon #readathon #figthistlebooks #springcleaningreadathon

Onceuponatime I don't think I've ever heard the term "Back-prickler" before ? 8y
MaleficentBookDragon I 🖤 this book. It was recommended by a friend. I had not read his YA books so I was unfamiliar with Pike. This was a great take on vampires. Have you read The Cold One? That is my favorite of his. (edited) 8y
Redjewel_7734 @MaleficentBookDragon I've only read three of his books: Season of Passage, The Cold One, & The Listeners. I first read them in high school, & I've enjoyed rereading them since 😊 I love how he plays with myth & expectation 8y

Read this years ago after having been a fan of Pike's as a teen. Love how he is able to blend mythologies of sci fi with mystery!!!

For a bit of nostalgia re-read this old Pike gem. Forgot how fun his weird brand of horror was.

Trav Nice! I loved Christopher Pike when I was a teenager, I will often do rereads too of The Last Vampire and Final Friends series. 8y
Readaholics Loved Christopher Pike growing up! 8y
ej0728 @Trav I love The Last Vampire series, I give those a periodic re-read too. Back before vampires were all the rage 🤓 8y
Trav @ej0728 Before they became all sparkly 😂 8y
kendra I still have my collection of his books. My favorite is See You Later, followed closely by Remember Me and Bury Me Deep. 8y
