The Parasitic Mind: How Infectious Ideas Are Killing Common Sense | Gad Saad
3 posts | 3 read | 1 reading | 1 to read
"Read this book, strengthen your resolve, and help us all return to reason." JORDAN PETERSON The Wests commitment to freedom, reason, and true liberalism have become endangered by a series of viral forces in our society today. Renowned host of the popular YouTube show The SAAD Truth, Dr. Gad Saad exposes how an epidemic of idea pathogens are spreading like a virus and killing common sense in the West. Serving as a powerful follow-up to Jordan Petersons book 12 Rules for Life Dr. Saad unpacks what is really happening in progressive safe zones, why we need to be paying more attention to these trends, and what we must do to stop the spread of dangerous thinking. A professor at Concordia University who has witnessed this troubling epidemic first-hand, Dr. Saad dissects a multitude of these concerning forces (corrupt thought patterns, belief systems, attitudes, etc.) that have given rise to a stifling political correctness in our society and how these have created serious consequences that must be remediedbefore its too late.

Mehso-so

Is there truth or can truth just be made up or altered to fit a point of view or an agenda? That seems to be the case in many institutions. Well presented point. The draw back is the ego. The author is as self-righteous in his own way as much as those he is arguing against. He‘s not presenting he‘s bequeathing his wisdom.

Dr. Gad Saad shows us how politically correct dogma is riddled with logical fallacies which are killing our common sense and rational debate. Our universities are endangering our freedom of thought and speech and has given us a brain virus. A mind virus that is corrupting the brains of students, professors and the public at large. Saad's enthusiasm for the much-neglected truth shines through this powerful book.

EadieB I enjoyed his humor and logic while he laid out the reasons why our country seems out of control. He expertly diagnoses the malady and points the way to the cure. Read this book which will strengthen your resolve and help us all return to reason! 4y
TheSpineView I so agree that the politically correct has gone way wrong. 4y

DarkMina @Eadie That is extremely kind of you. 4y
LitStephanie I am not familiar with this book, but your review reminds me of Richard Dawkin's discussion of "memes" (not the social media kind) as self-replicating units, much like DNA, in The Selfish Gene. Ideas can spread like viruses. 4y
EadieB @DarkMina Book is wrapped and will be mailed today. Another book from your TBR is on its way to you. It's in Hudson CO (edited) 4y
