I‘m wrecked. This was an amazing story about love and family and adventure and finding yourself and your purpose. April befriends a lonely and injured polar bear where bears shouldn‘t be. Her distracted, grieving father doesn‘t believe her, leading her to take a dangerous and disastrous step.

“Friluftsliv,” April repeated softly. It was a word that sounded like mermaids, enchanted forests, or something ethereal and magic.

A beautiful book with lovely illustrations.

Lovely edition of this book from Waterstones. Stickers will be removed - my pet hate!

April‘s father takes her to the Arctic on a research mission, and he tells her there are no bears. But, she finds one, and they become great friends…great adventure book.

Lovely little story - I'd recommend this if you have young readers who are learning about or who want to understand climate change. It's a hard topic, but I think this gives the message that anyone can make a difference, and we all have to try. But it's also a fun adventure of a brave and smart little girl. And the illustrations are beautiful.

Excellent little story with a big punch. I learnt that the ice is melting much faster than it has ever. Polar bears in big danger. A delightful way to introduce this to kids plus other kid feelings. I was enchanted.
