Cascade (The River of Time Series Book #2)
Cascade (The River of Time Series Book #2) | Lisa T. Bergren

Mom touched my underdress--a gown made six hundred years before--and her eyes widened as she rubbed the raw silk between thumb and forefinger. She turned and touched Lia's gown. "Where did you get these clothes?" In Cascade, the second book in the River of Time Series, Gabi knows she's left her heart in the fourteenth century and she persuades Lia to help her to return, even though they know doing so will risk their very lives. When they arrive, weeks have passed and all of Siena longs to celebrate the heroines who turned the tide in the battle against Florence--while the Florentines will go to great lengths to see them dead. But Marcello patiently awaits, and Gabi must decide if she's willing to leave her family behind for good in order to give her heart to him forever.

I enjoyed this fun, action packed sequel. There are handsome, chivalrous knights, but our heroines sometimes rescue them and themselves as well. I look forward to the discussion the author is hosting for the series on her River of Time facebook page. It starts tomorrow night.

#springflingreading #fastread

I just finished reading Cascade, the second book in this series. It took me two days to get through the first 50 pages because life. But then I sped through the rest in a day. Fast reads and so good!

I can‘t express enough how much I enjoy this series. I liked that they take their mother with this time. The plague concept was a great addition to the story. I‘m glad Lia and Luca form a relationship. Lia and Gabi are strong willed, independent, and smart as well as vulnerable and honest. It‘s refreshing to read a young adult novel that doesn‘t include sex and love triangles but focuses on loyalty and faith.

annahenke I've been meaning to pick this up. Thanks for the affirmation! 8y
