If I was at my parents' house, I could use my copy of The Grapes of Wrath, as that book is truly #FallingApart. (I might have stolen it from my senior English classroom by simply forgetting to turn it in at the end of the semester.) But I'm at my apartment, so the best I can do is this slightly worn copy of What Maisie Knew. #SpringFlingReading

Since I don't have any King-related #memorabilia, I'm going to combine this prompt from #StephenKing17 with the #favorite prompt from #SpringFlingReading with a picture of one of my favorite King novels.

#springflingreading

These have been some of my #favorite books since I first entered Narnia at the age of six.

@jess.how

BucklingBookshelves Those are some well-loved books! I've only read The Lion, the Witch, & the Wardrobe (possibly twice?) Gotta get to the rest of the series one of these days! 8y
christineandbooks Those are the same copies I have from my childhood! 💙 8y

Pickpick

Though favorites are always a challenge to narrow down, these three have been my most consistent ones. #SpringFlingReading

BeautyAndABook Ohhh I haven't read the Artemis Fowl books in forever, great books though! 8y

A shot from the inside of my #favorite physical copy of a book for #springflingreading

"Fifteen birds in five fir trees / Their feathers were fanned in a fiery breeze."

ohyeahthatgirl Aw I used to have this one! One of the saddest things I'vevlost in a move. 8y
TobeyTheScavengerMonk @ohyeahthatgirl We are going through a major rearrangement of our home and I am having to box up and store a lot of books and I am terrified of something happening to this one! 8y

While the ever #problematic Ender's Game is my favorite book, this is my #favorite book-as-object.

I owe the Rankin/Bass animated Hobbit my love of fantasy. I watched it so many times as a kid, and when I saw this beauty at Edward McKay's Used Books and More I NEEDED it, precious.

It's the complete text with 230 illustrations from the planning stages of the film. It is massive and GORGEOUS. #springflingreading

CrowCAH Awesome!!! 😍 8y
Gezemice I love Ender's Game, too. I don't think it is problematic, it is genius. 8y
Soubhiville Wow! 8y

TobeyTheScavengerMonk @Gezemice Oh no, the book is complete genius, the problem is that the author is a jerk. 8y
Gezemice @TobeyTheScavengerMonk I know but I think people should be able to enjoy the work apart from what the author says. I have read those a long time ago and loved them, not going to start hating them because his views are not up to mainstream. I don't agree with what he says. But the books themselves are actually a huge statement for acceptance of differences. 8y
TobeyTheScavengerMonk @Gezemice Oh, I still very much love the books. I could never hate them. The first means more to me personally than any book I've ever read. And the whole series literally revolves around the theme of understanding the other as the ultimate solution. It just bums me out that the author is a jerk. It is problematic for me, is all. (edited) 8y
Gezemice @TobeyTheScavengerMonk Yeah, it is ironic that he can envision understanding of something completely alien yet cannot do it for something only slightly different right where he is. 8y
TobeyTheScavengerMonk @Gezemice Well said. Plus I've read interviews where he's been really shockingly rude to people and he spoke at my brother's college and a lot of the audience got upset because he was arrogant about his own work and dismissive of their questions. I'm not just calling him a jerk because of his beliefs. 8y
Gezemice @TobeyTheScavengerMonk His style is so highly intellectual and often missing emotions. I am not surprised his social skills are lacking. Maybe one of the people with no filters, too much honesty. 8y

Who am I kidding? I can't pick a #favorite book! But my #favoriteauthor is Georgette Heyer. I wrote a whole post a few years ago about why YOU should read her too! http://www.quirkybookworm.blogspot.com/2015/10/31-days-of-book-pics-favorite-aut... // #springflingreading

Melissa_J Wow! I didn't realize she'd written so many books. 8y
GypsyKat Wow, I've sadly never even heard of her. I'll have to check her out! 8y
