1/5⭐ The characters are so petty, it's hard to believe they're functioning adults. The first couple chapters are just the main characters slamming on each other in such an over-the-top, off-putting way. The audiobook narrator often ran sentences together, emphasized parts of sentences in ways that made it sound unnatural, and didn't differentiate dialogue from narration or various voices from each other very well.

Ugh I‘m so conflicted with this one. I honestly got to the point where the catty behavior of the FMC got to the point where it was too much. Over all I enjoyed this book. At times I felt like it was very cliche and even predictable.
I can see how some people may not like the main characters, but that makes for even better drama.

Ok ladies, Life has hit me hard this month with starting school (aka I teach 2nd graeders) with kids this last Wednesday.
I know that I have two of our books. I am really behind and just started one of them today. I will try to bust through them as quickly as possible, to keep us on track as best we can.

3 ⭐️ This book followed the typical enemies-to-lovers format set in the beautiful island of Trinidad. I am curious to see what everyone else thinks of it! #LMPBC it‘s headed your way @cwarnier

It was so nice to kickoff my July reads on the beach today! The first time I tried to read this, it wasn‘t the right time. Take two!

The first romance I remember reading was The Kiss Quotient, which totally converted me into a romance reader. @MidnightBookGirl @kimmypete1

Making more progress than I expected with my end of the month reading goals during #20in4 ! I finished 2 books that I was most of the way through (the top 2) and started a new audiobook from my Feb tbr (Sweethand). @Andrew65

I chose to listen to N. G. Peltier's Sweethand on a whim (thanks to #partner @librofm) since I don't usually love listening to romance on audio. This one, though? I loved it. Set in Trinidad and Tobago, the book's main characters are Cherisse and Keiran who have been in the same friend group since they were young and have hated each other for just as long. ⬇

OKAY as often as books get ruined when turned into movies, I would be first in line at the theater if they turned this one into a movie. An instant classic rom-com.

I had this book recommended to me and I'm so glad I read it. This book was so much fun! It's a contemporary enemies to lovers romance with baking, a cute cat, loveable friends, an island setting, steamy sexual tension, and a main character with the mouth of a sailor. That last part was unexpected when I saw this adorable cover, but I laughed when the very first word of the book was "Shit!" I honestly had a hard time putting this book down.

Was feeling bummed out, so I decided to apply a recent romance novel and it was pretty effective! I think the ending is a little abrupt, but it's a good time otherwise, and since it's a series there will be a chance to see these 2 again.
