Bishop's Crossing
Bishop's Crossing | Don Mewha
1 post | 2 to read
The dark streets of New Orleans come to life in this riveting Urban Fantasy! Fans of Jim Butcher, Constantine, and Tales from the Nightside will adore Bishop's Crossing! A failed priest gets pulled back into the occult world that he left behind when his daughter shows signs of mystical ability. He reconnects with his former team to track down the missing daughter of the Voodoo King of New Orleans while he's hunted by a fanatical member of the Church. After checking in with the vampires and nearly being killed, Bishop and his friends track the missing girl to a warehouse run by a cult that's been abducting children, but the church fanatic takes that time to threaten Bishop's daughter leading him and Ava (a former flame) to go save them while the rest of the team follows the trail. Escaping the lunatic, Bishop and Ava rejoin the team, save the girl and return her to her father, only to find out it wasn't her. The daughter had run away and been turned into a vampire. From there it becomes a race to save the Voodoo King from the cult, which has laid a trap for him. When Bishop and company arrive, they discover that Bishop's father, presumed dead for the past 13 years, is behind the cult. A confrontation ensues resulting in his death. The group escapes once again, and separates, with only Bishop and Ava left. They check in on Bishop's child, only to discover that she's been kidnapped by the church fanatic, along with her mother and the mother's fiancé. Bishop and Ava race to save them. A fight breaks out that ends with the fanatic unconscious. Bishop and the babymama almost get back together, but Bishop realizes that Ava's the one he loves. He chases after her, finally cracks open with honest emotions, and the two walk off into the French Quarter night together.
