I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new. Don‘t judge me - I have a lot of books. Join in if you want!

Found this one a little frustrating - it's just so inconsistent! At points it seems to be building up to something amazing, at others it's tedious & pretentious. And ultimately it doesn't really deliver. It has shades of the Da Vinci Code but the various themes are a little confusing - the spy stuff left me cold. The ending is twee & too convenient. Didn't get to know either of the women well enough to really care about them. A miss for me.

Pickpick

I really enjoyed this duel timelines set in Rome, one present day and the other late 1907s. It has romance, a mystery, thriller and I learnt a bit about Italian politics of that era.

Lately I seem to have four books on the go, well at the moment it's these three. I finished The Feast today, which will review at a later date.

When I finished this my first thought was - what a smorgasbord! Lottie moves to Rome after securing a job & marrying Tom. As a chief archivist, she discovers a box of files on Nina Lawrence, a young British woman,, who was viciously murdered in the late 1970s. As Lottie reads about Nina‘s life, the lack of justice & increasing similarities they share, leads Lottie to wanting to provide Nina with justice. So well written. Loved. 5/5

I thought this book was beautifully written, it‘s very descriptive and it easily transported me to Rome of the 1970s and the present day. Sadly, I wasn‘t as gripped as I thought I would be. The political side bogged me down somewhat and I found this part a little tedious. Consequently, it did take me a little while to get into this story and I found it quite a slow burner. All in all, a good book but too political for my tastes. 3.5⭐️ #Pigeonhole
