Sometimes horror is in the mind. And sometimes it's real. Telling the difference isn't always easy. It wasn't for Joe Creed. He'd just photographed the unreal. Now he had to pay the price. Because he always thought that demons were just a joke. But the joke was on him.And it wasn't very funny. It was deadly . . . 'Chilling event follows chilling event . . . The plot thickens. Your head spins' Daily Mail 'He is one of the few writers taking forward the tradition of the great supernatural storytellers -- and being innovative' Evening Standard 'A streamlined racehorse of a book, pulsing with energy, Creed will delight Herbert fans, and surely astonish them' Fear

Mehso-so

I decided to write down the books I own but haven't read on folded paper and put them in a box to draw at random (It was a HUGE job) I'm glad I've done it though as this was the first I picked which I've owned for more than 10 years 😱 and never picked up. It wasn't really for me as it turns out but it was quite humorous and funny in parts and I'm glad to have crossed it off my TBR

jmtrivera Great idea! Maybe I'll give that a try! 8y
Bookscatsandcountry @jmtrivera I think it will work well in that I'm picking books I just wouldn't think to reach for. If I pick up one and I just don't feel in the mood, it goes back in for another time. It's handy as well to have them all in one place rather than some on a shelf and some on a kindle. I've picked up my first John Irving next! 8y
Suet624 I had to scroll way down to find this post again so I could comment on it! I just wanted to thank you for this idea. It's a terrific way to move through a TBR. Sometimes I close my eyes and run my hand over a pile and "feel" for what's next. Let my soul do the talking. ? 8y

#augustphotochallenge #augustofpages #daysix #minimalistcovers This was a hard one, I tend to go for the amazing covers on books. I know you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but if it has an amazing cover it tends to catch your eye more. I have three of these James Herbert books that my father received from a subscription book club years ago, the only reason I have them because I would never have chosen them myself. The actual stories are ok.

TheSpinecrackersBookClub Well I always enjoy a book that has a story (except of course the story on the inside) so thumbs up for this post. 8y
