pick4¼⭐The more you learn about the victim…the more you realize that he wasn‘t a good person and that maybe…driving his car through his garage was exactly what he deserved. But was it murder? I was feeling kind of meh about this story throughout most of it. But then the ending with its different levels of reveals was pretty clever and ultimately satisfying…making it one of those books that becomes all the better once you learn how it all plays out.
pickI‘m giving this a thumbs up because of pretty good plotting but I have to say I didn‘t really like any of the characters. This is not a game stop for me but the plot, while as I say is pretty good, it is also convoluted and incredulous. Read at your own risk. Hope I used incredulous correctly - meant hard to believe. Should have just said that LOL. Please criticize me if I have misused!
pickHappy Publication Day! This domestic thriller opens with a literal bang- Emma wakes up to discover her husband‘s body in their garage. She starts to look into more of what he hid from her- just as he hid his drunken rages from outsiders. Told across multiple perspectives, this takes some surprising turns along the way. It clips along at a consistently fast pace and the characters- even when they act immaturely- come to life. I wonder what‘s next!
pickIntense. Captivating. Really kept me guessing. James‘ death is ruled an accident, but Emma suspects otherwise. And she is right.
At some point, all the main characters had a motive for wanting James dead. And I found myself thinking “good for them, he needs to be gone.”
pickI literally sped through this book. It was extremely suspenseful. I rated it 4 out of 5. It would have been a 5, but the end was a bit confusing. I had to read it twice to ensure I understood what had happened. Even now, I‘m not totally sure. If anyone else has read it, please reach out to me so we can discuss.
