Why would I want to read of a person who always seeks solace in others and cannot ever be happy? Such a sad story. The last couple years have been 😣 I may be moving at a snail‘s pace but I have hope I can do better by myself in 2024. I know I haven‘t written in awhile…but I‘ll be sending out some letters tomorrow. -view from Provincetown Library of the harbor. I‘m lucky to see this each day.

Pickpick

Ethan Frome is story with tragic ending. Expresses the power of love & how far one will go for love. Even though Ethan is married, his love for Mattie Silver causes the two to partake in an unthinkable act. Wharton uses this theme, illicit love to present "a drama of irresistible necessity." The emotion of Mattie and Ethan was very evident and could be felt by the reader. It's hard to believe that anything so classic could be such a page turner.
