This is a solid book of canning (and other jar-using) recipes. If I were to have just one canning book, this would be a good choice. However, nothing felt particularly inspiring. Except for the pancake and cake recipes (dry ingredients in a jar) at the end—that just shows that I‘m a baker at heart more than anything!

Cranberry syrup. So I can have delicious drinks -and vitamin C!- if the Zombie Apocalypse strikes.
Hey, you prepare your way, I'll prepare mine.

Tamra Oh my! Send me some please?! 😃 1y
Daisey That sounds amazing! 1y
Aimeesue @Tamra It's super easy and small batch from tagged book (which is great and $2.99 on Kindle): boil cranberries in water til they pop, drain the juice, add juice back to pot, add sugar and boil again, then can. So good! 1y

Aimeesue @Daisey I am enjoying it RIGHT NOW 😁 1y
Tamra @Aimeesue I have it and will be looking it up! 😊 1y
Aimeesue @Tamra Yay! I hope you like it! 1y
Tamra @Aimeesue what‘s funny, is last year I made the cranberry apple jam from the book and I brought up a jar today. Synchronicity! 1y
Tamra I just love the cranberry red. One of my favorite colors. I hoard fresh cranberries in my freezer when they become available in the fall. 1y
Aimeesue @Tamra ha! It's definitely the cranberry time of year! In terms of wearing AND eating! 1y
Suet624 That looks so beautiful and so yummy. 1y
Aimeesue @Suet624 Almost too pretty to eat. But also too delicious not to. It's a conundrum. 😄 1y

Today was tomato jam day. Tomato jam because unlike most other tomato canning recipes, you don't have peel or seed the tomatoes. That's a big win in my book. 😁

Tamra Woot! That looks delicious! 😋 1y
Bklover YUMMO 1y
Aimeesue @Tamra @Bklover It's really good on a turkey sandwich, according to my daughter. 🦃 1y

Aimeesue I, of course, won't be able to eat any for a couple weeks, as I tasted it about 700 times today as it was cooking down, so I'm kind of tomatoed out. 😂 (edited) 1y
Texreader Mmmmmm!! 1y
Bklover I understand! I spent a day making spaghetti sauce (my favorite thing!) and didn‘t want to look at tomatoes 🍅 for a week or so! I did recover, however! 1y

How do I love book sales? Let me count the ways! 🥰

The book behind Julia is 🍃Basil 🌱- a book of recipes. Top left is a mandala coloring book but for now no ✏️ Anyone have 🖌pencil/marker 🖍suggestions?

LeahBergen Wonderful! 👏🏻 5y

Bread and butter pickles from Food in Jars. I have high hopes. The bread stuffed larger jars are Hungarian pickles...my mother's recipe. I might be channeling my inner Ma Ingalls. #preserves #canning #oldtimey #littlehouseinthebigwoods

BarbaraTheBibliophage Oh cool. I've been wondering about that book. I love to can! This weekend I'm making ketchup. 8y
