So, I‘m enrolled in school studying to become a Licensed Massage Therapist. I don‘t have a medical background so it has been challenging to say the least. I couldn‘t maintain my excitement after completing one of the requirements which was 105 massages in the clinic before graduation. Mine are done and I will graduate in December! I watched many students come after graduation to finish there clinicals. I listened to books in the car. 4.0 GPA.

Kemi (high power exec), Brittany-Rae (former flight attendant), and Muna (refugee) don‘t know each other but soon their lives unexpectedly intersect through the same influential white man in Sweden. Fast-paced with complex characters. This book explores racism, tokenism, and more, through the nuanced experiences of three Black women living in a white-dominated society. She pulls no punches. Emotionally SO HEAVY but SO GOOD.

This was a good read. Three black women come to Sweden looking for a future. They face white privilege of the most extreme kind and experience multiple exclusions. Each has to decide on fight flight or surrender. I agree the unraveling was very rapid but overall a good read

It is the story of three black women. Kemi is a successful marketing executive. Brittany-Rae is swept up in a whirlwind romance with a wealthy Swedish man. Muna is an African refugee, who lost everything in her home country . The author looks at the truths of being a black woman in a predominantly white society and tackles the issues of race/class. The endings of three women is a bit abrupt but the reader can deduct the women‘s outcomes.
