As I was nearing the end of the book and seeing the back cover approaching, I just kept thinking, how is this going to wrap up in that few pages? It turns out, I was right. I feel like it should have been a good bit longer. It was a nice light romantic comedy, though.

MyNamesParadise I felt the same way when I read it, that it needed to be longer. I enjoyed it though! 2y

I really enjoyed this book. A fun and quick read. I wish it had actually been a little longer. The ending was almost too quick. I really liked the protagonist and her journey throughout the book. Apparently this is the first romantic comedy by this author, but I would gladly read more rom coms from her!

So you know how romance and cozy mystery share the truth that you can always find your flavor? I think one of mine is people who work in publishing. Not authors themselves (that is almost too common) but editors and interns and publishers. Thanks, Younger.↘️ #romantsy

ReadingEnvy Lanie is moved up to the editor role of a publishing company's number one romance author, the reason she got into publishing in the first place. But the author is a mystery and has not been delivering like she usually does. Something must be up! And Lanie's personal life isn't going great either - her fiance uses every opportunity to try to get her to quit her job and move to D.C. to support his political ambitions.↘️ 3y
ReadingEnvy This is an instance where I was happy to get to the obvious HEA (happily ever after) but wanted to read the rest of the story too. It's ironic considering one plot point of the story! 3y
MyNamesParadise Thanks for the review! I just picked this up from the library yesterday! 3y

This a sweet and short romance. I enjoyed the premise: rising book editor Lanie is shocked when it‘s revealed her publisher‘s big name romance novelist is secretly a handsome man, whom she has to work with to produce their already overdue manuscript. The slow burn romance is well-done, but a bit TOO slow for me (if ya know what I mean), and the climax isn‘t CLIMACTIC enough (if ya know what I mean). #Romantsy

I love the premise of this book: editor Lanie and best selling author Noa have to work together to get a book finished. But I didn't expect that Lanie thought Noa was a middle aged woman and not an man her age named Noah. There could have been interesting ways to talk about why Noah writes as Noa, instead it really focused on Lanie's feelings of betrayal. I did enjoy the later part of the book, but I wish the reveal had been done differently.

Started this with high hopes that the first few chapters justified, but then it all went downhill from there. She had preconceived notions about what the author should be like and when she turned out to be a he, she flipped out and was really quite unprofessional. And I really just didn‘t understand why it was so bad that the author was a he.
