Do Me a Favor | Cathy Yardley
post image

Do Me A Favor is out now! I enjoyed the ARC a month ago. My previous response:

A cookbook ghost writer inherits a house on a Pacific Northwest island, where there just happens to be a most sexy single-dad handyman. Featuring an endearing dog who brings them together, goats interrupting romantictimes, lots of food, and following your dreams.

Lauredhel (cont) I particularly liked that the book didn't follow a typical 3rd-act breakup formula, that they're both in their forties, that they were both going through career issues and direction changes, that the kids (young adults) seemed kinda like real people, and that there wasn't any silly-misunderstanding subplot.

And they both have just a bit of baggage from the past that isn't super horrible trauma, but that they need to grow through (and do)

This one was fun. I needed something lighthearted, and I love when NYC is a setting in a book. Not a lot of angst. I enjoyed the characters, both the main ones and also the supporting ones. Recommended. #romantsy

Paladin's Grace | T Kingfisher

Stephen is a worried possibly uncontrollably murderous paladin who knits socks while Grace is a self conscious perfumer with a penchant for trouble. These two are sweet and exemplify the cozy romantic fantasy of Kingfisher.

I preferred Swordheart (sequel 🙏), but will for sure read the rest of this series. It was nice being familiar with this world of Rat 🐀 priests and terrible temple of the mother. #romantsy #cozyfantasy #knittersoflitsy

I really enjoyed this one. It was a nice break from ACOTAR. I checked it out from the library and stayed up late tonight to finish it. The only thing that annoyed me a bit was how several of the characters called each other “baby”… that‘s just a me thing, though. I‘ve never really been all that keen on that particular term of endearment. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!

CaliforniaCay The "baby" thing is one of my pet peeves! Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one annoyed by that because it is so common to hear these days ? 2mo
