pickJon Klassen is a genius at deadpan humour & the eyes on his be-hatted animals are amazingly expressive. This picture book is perfect for emerging readers, with wide leading and repetitive words. All caps are used to indicate raised voices. Two different colours of text help distinguish different speakers. The illustrations help youngsters predict narrative flow.
It‘s also hilarious for readers of all ages. #Canadian #kidlit #AllAges

Not to be confused with envy - this book illustrates mimetic desire: wanting to make a phone call because someone is using a phone.
