pickFirst published in 1979 when I was 15, I remember reading this book and thinking that I had never read anything like it. Definitely my first grownup horror novel this is a classic that I wanted to reread. I liked the building of the story, how we see Baal through his childhood and into adulthood. There is a lot of dread and violence in the story. I found the whole thing very interesting. I liked that the ending was in the isolation of the arctic.

Robert McCammon is one of my favourite authors and I've enjoyed all of the books that I've read of his and there's no exception with BAAL.

so-soI love Robert McCammon, but this just wasn't as cohesive as I would have liked. It definitely has an 80's horror feel to it, but I needed more depth to the story. This was his first novel though, and it certainly has its creepy vibe, just not as refined as his later works.
Found this guy lurking around my bookshelf. It's an odd little book but interesting enough to keep me going. Halfway in and still not exactly sure what to make of it.
