January's #BookSpin!

Includes a few Litsy challenges (#foodandlit, #thematiccozies), BookRiot's annual Read Harder challenge, and my own challenges of (1) reading the books on my TBR to balance out the new books I keep adding and (2) reading non-fiction every morning.

So I‘m on chapter 6 and although it‘s a little futuristic I love the chapter quotes and it‘s really interesting how it‘s set, characters are well written… will post a review when done reading 🙌🏽

Pickpick

Fascinating book that explores consciousness, language, oppression, corporations, and the environment. Although the short chapters are told from alternating points of view, the book is not fast-paced. This book requires some reflection. In the near-future Dr. Ha is investigating the possibility of sentient octopuses. This novel is about other minds and cultures, not an action-packed first contact story. Once I settled into the pace, I enjoyed it.

November reads. The moutain in the sea was the best, but I enjoyed all these reads.
