Greywaren (The Dreamer Trilogy #3)
Greywaren (The Dreamer Trilogy #3) | Maggie Stiefvater
12 posts | 10 read | 3 to read
The majestic conclusion to Maggie Stiefvaters Dreamer Trilogy. This is the story of the Lynch family. Niall and Mr escaped their homeland for a new start, and lost themselves in what they found. Declan has grown up as the responsible son, the responsible brother--only to find there is no way for him to keep his family safe. Ronan has always lived on the edge between dreams and waking... but now that edge is gone, and he is falling. Matthew has been the happy child, the brightest beam. But rebellion beckons, because it all feels like an illusion now. This world was not made for such a family--a family with the power to make a world and break it. If they cannot save each other or themselves, we are all doomed.

(A much better cover, IMO.)

I'm torn about these. The whole trilogy seemed so overly complicated and kind of unnecessary, but then the end did tie together a lot and provide many resolutions, so that was satisfying. Not nearly as good as the original series, though.

This book was just perfection for me. If you‘ve journeyed with these characters from the very start of the raven boys, the final chapter here is SUCH a gift. I ended up going back and doing a Raven cycle re-listen after this one and I had a great time. And there were chapters in this I just had to go back to. Love ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

August review😳
Third book and apparently last book in this trilogy (sometimes authors decide to add a new book at the last minute🤷🏽‍♀️) I love love the characters and this world. First book was amazing. However, these 2 books could be summarized in the first book. It was so repetitive like they needed to add unnecessary information just to say that there is a trilogy. Abrupt ending.3⭐️ Land for the whole trilogy3.5⭐️⬇️

Gissy (Cont) The narrator is the same for the 7 books in this world. Amazing, extraordinary work👏I really enjoyed and appreciated the interview conducted by the author with the narrator in this last audiobook.

This was really the end of an era, the final book in the Dreamer Trilogy, but also the true conclusion of The Raven Boys, the four book series that first introduced Ronan. I have really loved these books, and now my teenagers are reading them as well. I will miss this beautifully imagined world!

Oh, this was a good cap to the series/universe. Lots of mysteries solved, some new plot twists that put details in fresh context, and Ronan Lynch getting a happy ending. I want to start the whole 'verse over again now! #yalit #yafantasy #squashonesequashtwo

I enjoyed it. Some of this due to it being the conclusion to a series that's been with me through teenagedom. Great characters and satisfying read.

"Was he awake? Or was he dreaming?"
Such a great ending to the trilogy. Literally chuckled out loud a few times and teared up at the end.

Anyone know if this is truly the end of the journey for the Lynch Brothers and the Raven Cycle crew?

Lots of times when storytellers write about storytelling it makes me want to do violence, especially in fantasy settings. Like when Tyrion Lancaster told everyone that Bran should be king cause he had the best story? Moved me to violence. But the magic as metaphor for art that Stiefvater uses is beautifully made.

Just as mind-boggling and heart-wrenching as I hoped. Stiefvater is, in my opinion, a master of the surprising yet inevitable. All the threads that make up Ronan Lynch come together at last in this book, and I was at the edge of my seat.

I can‘t give this a perfect rating because I felt that one important thread was not sufficiently resolved on an emotional level. I‘d hoped there would be a Matthew book next, but it looks like this is the end ☹️

Simultaneously excited and terrified! How will Maggie Stiefvater break my brain and heart this time?!
