Blind Spots is a highly inventive, gritty thriller. It is a detective novel set in a dystopian future where everyone has gone blind following a global disaster. The story follows the lead detective, Mark Owens, still grieving the loss of his artist wife, as he tries to make sense of the nonsensical. Mullen yields a creative, taut plot that leaves you reeling. This is a very entertaining and thought-provoking read ⬇

36/150 In the future, everyone is blinded, then technology, called Vidders, allows electronic signals straight to the brain which let's people "see" again. I liked the premise, and the kind of PKD take on what's real and what's not if people can manipulate what the Vidder shows them. I thought the book dragged at several points, spending too much time in flashbacks to events that happened during The Blinding. The conclusion was a bit weak ⬇️⬇️

This original dystopian future thriller captivated me from start finish! A global event called The Blinding rendered the world blind. Now, years later, the technology that has enabled people to “see” may have a weakness. With great world-building, character development & an exciting plot, this one is sure to spark some lively discussion between its readers (and spouses of its readers, judging by the fun I had with my husband telling him about it!)

Seven years ago, everyone in the world went blind but technology helped people adjust to the new normal downloading visual data directly to people‘s brains. What happens when someone finds a way to hack it and change what people see. When a scientist is murdered, Mark Owens doesn‘t believe her. He must conduct an investigation in which he can‘t even trust his own eyes.

EadieB A vidder is what they discovered to use which is a small disc like implantation on the right temple but it can be manipulated and change what people are seeing. This is a dystopian sci-fi novel that made me think about what it would be like having to rely on other people in order to see. There are some good plot twists and turns which kept me engrossed and reading on until the end. 2y
EadieB If you like dystopian sci-fi mystery novels then you would love this book. I would like to thank Minotaur books and NetGalley for a copy for an honest review. 2y
Andrew65 This sounds really different and interesting. An excellent review. Couldn‘t be more different to DarkTown by the look of it. 2y
