I LOVED this novel that follows 3 generations of midwives, their unique experiences, secrets, and difficulties. I didn‘t want to put it down, felt connected to the characters, and was invested in their well-being. Highly recommend.

I flew through this book! Loved it! I think this author deserves more attention than she gets. Her last book ‘The Mother-in-Law‘ was fantastic and so was this one. She apparently has another book due out next year. I will definitely be reading it. Meanwhile I‘m going back to read her other books. If you like Liane Moriarty, Marian Keyes, Jane Green and Louise Candlish, you‘ll like this author too.
My reserved library books have arrived! Yippeee! 😀Diving into this first one. I really enjoyed another book by this author called ‘The Mother-in-Law‘ which is why I requested this one. Three chapters in and so far so good!
This is a multigenerational saga about 3 women — grandmother, mother and daughter, who are all midwives. Each carries a secret. Each chapter alternates with one of the main characters telling their story, some with flashbacks to the 1950s. All in all, I really enjoyed this. It‘s a feel-good story and a quick read. My only complaint is that it needed a bit more character development, but that doesn‘t detract from enjoying the story. 4⭐️

TODAY‘S PROMPT: SECRETS
Three women, three generations, common interests, but mostly secrets.
Have you read it?

This was a pretty cheesy, sentimental family saga but was surprisingly satisfying cos sometimes you need that kind of fast easy fiction.
1. Of course! Either a physical copy or e-book. Pleasure reading or reading for work.
2. Yep! Just went there yesterday. One of my fave places.
3. Yes. I discovered the joy of reading e-books back in the day when I was up at wee hours of the morning with my babies

Enjoying this one so far!
What a lovely book. This story is honest and wholesome and entirely pleasant. I was urged to keep reading by the characters, they were real, and they were likable. There is conflict and resolution and throughout the entire story you are compelled to believe in these people. To believe that they will be okay and that their actions are made with the best of intentions. Lovely, in a word. This book is lovely ❤️
Nice story. I enjoyed this multigenerational story of mothers and midwives.
This was a pleasant surprise. I borrowed it on Overdrive for an impromptu road trip. Some unbelievable aspects, but this is fiction after all. The reader did well with most of the different voices, however one of the main character voices was child-like and high-pitched. It was a nice palate cleanser.

I loved this book! It's about 3 strong women sharing family ties and a love of midwifery. The consequences of keeping secrets led to stress and heartache, but also to lessons in forgiveness, second chances and new beginnings.
