Together, the royal heirs of both planetsPhan-tu Zenn and Xiri Albaranworking alongside the Jedi, have uncovered evidence that the conflict is being orchestrated by outside forces, and all signs point to the mysterious Path of the Open Hand, whom the Jedi also suspect of causing the disaster on Jedha. With timeand answersin short supply, the Jedi must divide their focus between helping quell the renewed violence on Eiram and Eronoh and investigating the Path. Among them is Gella Nattai, who turns to the one person she believes can unravel the mystery but the last person she wants to trust: Axel Greylark. The chancellors son, imprisoned for his crimes, has always sought to unburden himself of the weight of his family name. Eiram and E'ronoh are still at each other's throats, when a biological weapon is found on their moon and war almost rekindles. So Ziri and Phan-tu, along with some Jedi, set out to find out where the weapons and smugglers actually came from, which leads to a major war on Dalna with the Path of The Open Hand.
This newest High Republic series seems to enjoy getting you attached to certain Jedi, then killing them off.

Putting this behind spoilers because I have to rant about how Lydia Kang just had to kill off my favourite character 😭 Happily, the other team I got attached to made it out alive (who said it was easy to take care of a child?). But don't get too attached on anyone here. This ends bad and I was all in tears. The end fight was awful to read, but still I couldn't stop because I was so engrossed in the story.

BookwormAHN I am starting to feel like this new series is about getting attached to characters and then watching them die 🤷🏼‍♀️ 5mo

Repost for @BookwormAHN

In November war broke out on Jedha, & the peace treaty between Eiram & E'ronoh was threatened.
Now the news of what happened on Jedha has reached Eiram & E'ronoh. Can peace still be achieved?
What did everyone else think?
As always if anyone wants to be added or removed just let me know. And May the Force Be With You Always 🩶

I enjoyed being on Jedha & seeing what it was like centuries before its destruction in Rogue One. What did everyone else think?

Things are messy & getting worse in this latest installment in the High Republic. The Path of the Open Hand continues to maneuver as it prepares to deploy a terrible weapon. Meanwhile Jedi strive to help two planets, once on the cusp of peace, now at war again while also trying to unravel the mystery of who is really behind the latest strife. These books fearlessly go to dark places, bad things happen, & yet there is always hope. A good read.

From the opening chapters of Light of the Jedi, The High Republic books, & comics, have done a spectacular job expanding the Star Wars universe. I appreciate that they‘ve been dark, explored different ideas about the Force, & show Jedi facing baddies that rival the Sith. I‘ve enjoyed everything I‘ve read but the YA & MG books, in particular, have been outstanding. Needless to say, this means I‘m very excited about today‘s arrivals.
