⭐️⭐️ 2/5 couldn‘t get into this.
Characters weren't likable but at the same time I think it was ment to be like that. This was mysterious but I was also super annoyed with the characters.
There were also some illogical things. But overall I was entertained and had fun while reading this.
This was fine. I didn‘t find the ending THAT shocking; it seemed like a book I‘ve read many times (as in not very unique). I disliked all the characters, except the dog. At least it‘s a quick read.
I finished this one in a day. If you can get by the over-the-top, spoiled daughter with her high-pitched voice when she says “Daddyyyyy!” and the jealous pretentious husband, it‘s a really good book. It‘s a twisty/turny psychological thriller that you won‘t be able to put down.
“It seemed only five minutes ago that Richard went to the station to pick up Chloe, and now they were here. I was so excited. Finally, I would meet my stepdaughter for the first time, and Chloe would meet her baby sister Evie. Let‘s just say things haven't quite worked out. Because I know something isn‘t right with Chloe, and I will do everything possible to protect my family.”
Loved, loved, LOVED this book. A super quick read, and a glorious twisty ending. Another good one that keeps you guessing about who the crazy one is; my type of book. If is says 'an unputdownable psychological thriller', then it's for me.
Brilliant! 2 twists in this one that I didn't see coming. A solid thriller, quick paced and tense.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I‘m not huge on thrillers, but this was for #bookclub, and sometimes I really appreciate picking up a story I maybe wouldn‘t have otherwise. Slightly reminiscent of The Push, but definitely wild in its own way. Unreliable, paranoid narrator. Clueless asshole husband. That‘s all I‘ll say. I listened to this book in one day. Couldn‘t stop!
This domestic drama hooked me in from the start & I couldn‘t stop listening! Joanne lives in the English countryside with her husband & infant daughter. Starting to feel isolated & lonely, she‘s thrilled when she hears that 20 year old Chloe, her husband‘s daughter from his first marriage is coming to stay. But it‘s not long before all Joanne wants is for this menacing presence to leave. Tense & with surprises, it‘s an excellent performance too!
This book had me going until the very end. I really didn‘t know how it was going to end and when I thought I had it, I was wrong again. I really liked the story and the writing and will definitely be reading more by this author!
Found this one a little too similar to other thrillers that I have read. It did keep me guessing a little but I did guess where it was going pretty early on. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Husband/doting Dad, add new wife and baby, insert the estranged older daughter, throw in a few plot twists and lots of crazy town…here it is!!! Good kindle unlimited find!!📖
