Very heartwarming story about an unlikely friendship and the way books bring people together. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Very heartwarming story about an unlikely friendship and the way books bring people together. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love retellings and this was a great one! Beauty and the Beast is one of my favs. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book started strong and had potential. Then it fizzled out and it was like the whole goal was just to confuse the reader. ⭐️⭐️
I don‘t like saying this about memoirs because they are so personal but I just couldn‘t get into this one. ⭐️⭐️
Loved the story. I enjoyed the setting just as much as the story. The only gripe I have (and it‘s a me problem, not a book problem) is that I often got the main characters and timelines confused. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Very sweet story but I was hoping for a little more depth. There were hints of more but it never really came to fruition. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a great eerie book to end the spooky season. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I loved the premise for this story but it fell a little short for me. I wanted to feel more of a connection with the characters but always felt a little distant. The best part for me were the generational stories. ⭐️⭐️
Didn‘t enjoy this one as much as the first. I‘m not even sure I‘ll read the last one. Maybe at some point. Still an entertaining twisty story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a gruesome haunted house story but the twist that made it different for me is that the main character isn‘t scared and is defending her house. Made for an interesting story but not nearly as creepy or scary as I had hoped. With that being said, I couldn‘t but it down. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I definitely enjoyed this haunted house story with gothic vibes. It was a little predictable until the absurdity at the end but I was all in. I loved the way the author told the story. I love horror books but sometimes they just leave too much unanswered and confusing. That was not the case for this one. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Woah! That was twisty for such a short book! On to the next one. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This story follows a boy from childhood to adulthood and all the experiences he had in the south. It‘s packed with characters you‘ll love and hate at the same time. The story was so heartbreaking from most vantage points. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I like books that I love the morally questionable characters.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I enjoyed the adventure and the characters. I love that the MC is a strong woman pirate that happens to be a mom also who comes out of retirement to save a girl. This adventure turns magical and I love the character development. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love this author but this one just didn‘t work. I‘m a therapist and I found the lack of information and lack of empathy for people who deal with mental illness to be appalling, insensitive, misinformed and just wrong. Besides that the plot was just too implausible for me to even keep interested.
⭐️⭐️
Started off a little slow but the premise had me intrigued. I‘m glad I stuck with it. It ended up somewhere I was completely surprised by. Lots of twists throughout and a satisfying end thought provoking ending. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I‘m a big fan of a good family drama. This one is about siblings who haven‘t spoken for over a decade who have to gather at their family mansion together in order to inherit after their mothers death. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Found this one a little too similar to other thrillers that I have read. It did keep me guessing a little but I did guess where it was going pretty early on. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Loved the premise of the book and playing off the love story reality shows with a twist. Absolutely loved the characters. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Good little love story about a writer of an SNL type show that falls for the talent. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I‘m conflicted on this one. On one hand I kept wanting to read it and was interested. On the other hand nothing was really going on and I hated most of the characters. If there was a little more plot I would have liked it much more. It was very character driven and I didn‘t like the characters. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I went into this with the understanding that I was reading a thriller. It definitely was not a thriller or horror. It was a captivating story of a father and daughter living in isolation in hiding. Definitely a slow burn but I couldn‘t put it down. It left me in tears because things/people are not always as they seem. Definite recommendation. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really enjoyed this one. It had creepy imagery and a very original storyline. It didn‘t have major twists or anything but did have a few directions that were unknown. We kind of knew what was going on as it was happening but that didn‘t take away from the story for me. Aunt Nadine was hysterical and made me laugh a few times. Highly recommend to horror lovers. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Good beach read with a lot of fluff and a little drama. I enjoyed it a lot. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Vampire-ish. gothic. sapphic. Loved it. Very well paced while still being very atmospheric. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It took a while to remember what happened in the first two books but it was talked about enough to remind me who was who and what happened. I loved this book just as much! Found out some new twist and explanations from the first two as well. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I expected this to be better and more thrilling. I feel like there was no twist because it‘s pretty evident throughout the story what was going on. I had a hard time keeping up with the dual timelines because it would switch without warning. There were some side stories that really just had no impact on the story but a lot of time was spent on them. ⭐️⭐️
Highly recommend the audiobook because it has a whole cast of characters and audio effects that enhanced the creepiness and overall feel of the book. I loved the found footage meets House of Leaves storyline. It didn‘t scare me like promised but I have yet to find a book that actually does. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Pretty good book but a lot of the time was spent on introducing characters. Now that the relationship is established I hope the plot gets better in the next book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I dnf at 70%. I was bored and couldn‘t stay focused on the story.
The emotion of the story itself covered for some of the unrealistic situations that would normally frustrate me. Mainly the secrets and privacy that just doesn‘t exist in real life. I loved the characters and felt very connected. There is gruesome retellings of domestic violence but for me it added to the emotion. Will definitely check out more by this author. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Another great story by Riley Sager. This one has so many twists and secrets that I couldn‘t keep up. I was pretty confident about one of the twists throughout and was disappointed when I was right but then they just kept coming unexpectedly. Loved it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A cult story AND a ghost story??? Yes please! I really enjoyed the story but it was a little long. Could have cut out 100 pages and made it more concise and I would have enjoyed it more. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Short but very heartbreaking, thoughtful, intense, emotional, and infuriating read. I definitely need a follow up about about Katie. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was definitely a twisty whodunit story where every character could have been the one to murder the matriarch of the chateau. I loved the darkness of the secrets that each person was hiding and thought I had it figured out. I had the right person but the wrong reasons! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
One of the best first lines in a book. “I‘ll know it‘s working when he starts to scream”.
A female badass serial killer???? Yes please. This one is a literature professor who allows herself to kill one man a year who have proven himself to be horrible to women.
I liked the storyline and the ending but I had a real hard time with several characters. I hated most of them. Not even the kind that I love to hate. I understand that was the point but it was difficult for me. ⭐️⭐️
I started this book today and finished it today. I love stories about serial killers and this one had several different perspectives. The daughter, love interest, and current hostage for 5 years. I liked that the hostage is the main character and her perspective is written in second person which I don‘t see often. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I loved the story and how I felt like I really knew all of these characters by the time it was over. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Not as amazing as the other books by this author that I read but still a 5 star read. This author is easily an automatic read for me. So heartwarming and I can feel the emotions of these non human characters. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was heavier than I expected but I love a good family drama. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cute fake dating story but I really didn‘t like the characters and didn‘t feel their connection at all. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I enjoyed the story and characters. My favorite thing is that it is set in the 80‘s and took me back to my childhood. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Couldn‘t put this one down. Read it in less than a day. I loved the fast pace of the book. I did see parts of the twists/ending coming but it didn‘t take away from the story. Loved it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The story was entertaining enough to keep me reading. Especially the first half. The writing itself, lack of character development, twists that didn‘t make sense, and mess of an ending are why I rated this 2 stars. If you can get past the plot holes and enjoy the story then you may like it a little more. ⭐️⭐️
America‘s royal family and the drama of the young people in the monarchy. I loved the way this was written. I‘ll probably check out the next book in the series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The story was entertaining for the most part but I found most of it to be tedious to read. It took me far longer than usual to finish and I found myself reading other books instead. ⭐️⭐️
