I can‘t believe I have never read this book! It‘s a wonderful portrayal of a “utopian” society where everyone follows very strict unquestioned rules and the focus is “sameness”. It isn‘t until Jonas is selected as the next receiver of memories at age 12 that things aren‘t always as they seem and it‘s realized that there really are no “perfect” societies. It reminds people not to take the little things in life for granted. A new fav. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Kaila-ann One of my absolute favorites ❤️ 1d
TamTracy @Kaila-ann ♥️ 1d
LoverOfLearning I like your description of the book. I loved it as a kid and I just reread it earlier this year. I didnt quite love it as much as I did as a kid. Maybe because of the ending where Jonas ran away and how they "transferred" the babies, the elderly, the sick, and the criminals. Idk but it definitely makes you think about your own morals and what life would be life if important things were hidden from us. 1d
TamTracy @LoverOfLearning Thanks! It‘s just a book that made me think. All the complaining we do and we take a LOT for granted. 22h
LoverOfLearning @TamTracy okay yeah I can gather that from this book. 22h

I really wanted to like this one. I actually thought I would love it. It was just boring to me. I never got into the story and often found myself reading parts over because my mind drifted elsewhere.

Kaila-ann I have copy of this one 😱 2d

I was captivated by this book and really wanted to see how things turned out in the end for these young loves. This was a cute love story that took place over a day. I loved how it highlighted how one persons decisions could impact other people lives without them even knowing it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I wasn‘t sure how I would like this book because of how much I loved The Hate You Give. I definitely didn‘t think it would compare. I was wrong. The stories and characters are so different yet so simIlar in the fact that their stories are not often told. I‘ll definitely read anything Angie Thomas writes. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a cute book. I liked the format of the letter writing and I look forward to watching the movie soon. I liked the story but it was just ok for me. I didn‘t feel connected or invested in the characters and didn‘t find myself wanting anything specific to happen.

This was refreshing to read as a therapist who happens to think Chelsea is hilarious. This book is more emotional than her past books (that I‘ve read) as she takes a deep look through therapy into what makes Chelsea herself. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I enjoyed the idea for this book. This book was a quick, fast paced read that kept me up to see how things turned out. There was a pretty good twist at the end that I didn‘t predict. For these reasons I gave the book 4 stars. It was entertaining. I did not love the characters and there were some questions left unanswered but overall I enjoyed the story.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved how this book brought in the paranormal without just being a haunted house book. It was weaved through the story enough to make you wonder but was also a murder mystery. The two timelines were easy to follow and came together nicely in the end. Loved the story! Perfect October read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
