The Firefly Summer | 
pickThis was a great MG summer camp adventure. It has family drama, a search for buried treasure, new friends, some adventure, some growth for the MC in unexpected ways. I loved the humor in it, especially in the mystery-series asides. Kiddo enjoyed it, I really enjoyed it. An author to watch.
pickI knew I was going to love Matson's first foray into MG! Ryanna is a great MC, and I loved her discovery and eventual love of her big, loud family. The kids also did some truly boneheaded things that were so accurate to being 11 that I was just cackling. Can we come back to Camp Van Camp next summer, please? #middlegrade
The MC (Ryanna) loves this Nancy Drew-ish book series. The heroine, Terry Turner, has dogs named Jessica Fetcher and Wagatha Christie. What a great laugh to start a Monday on!
I‘m just starting this book, and this is a big deal. I have never encountered this before: this is my daughter‘s name, Cassandra who goes by Casey.
The weird thing? Kiddo tried this book and didn‘t like it. 🤷🏻♀️ Still, I got it from the library because I figured at least one of us would like it. Hopefully it‘ll be me.
