A romcom that riffs on Much Ado About Nothing with particular reference to Kenneth Branagh‘s film version (probably my least favourite of all the versions I‘ve seen, but that‘s just me). There‘s more depth to the central character here than is usually the case in this kind of book. A good light read. #ozfiction

CarolynM @Ruthiella I saw the RSC production with Derek Jacobi and Sinead Cusack at Stratford in 1982 and I didn‘t think that would ever be matched, but I absolutely loved Joss Whedon‘s film, especially the actress who played Beatrice. I thought Emma Thompson was playing Kate the Shrew rather than Beatrice in Ken‘s film. 2mo

Meh

so-so

Just an ok read for me,I didnt really like any of the characters and found some to be quite annoying,which is probably also why I haven't rated it very highly.I didn't feel the chemistry between the main characters either and the toxicity of the Smith family was not something I found engaging to read about, it wasn't to the point where I was ready to DNF it,it just wasn't one of those books where I was really interested in the characters lives.
