I really wanted to like this book, the concept really appealed to me, but I just didn‘t care for the writing. It felt disjointed to me, like it was a high fantasy world but written more like an urban fantasy and I just couldn‘t get into it.

I absolutely loved this. This author did paladins so extremely well. I loved the snark, I loved the character development, and I loved the slow burn of the attraction. It had such great story telling. This was about good vs evil, and what that can be sometimes. There was tea drinking, great fights and even hilarious snarky bits. I loved the ending too. If anyone needs to know what happens to the dog before they read it feel free to message me.
I am really loving this book. I'm up to chapter 10 now which is about 1/4 of the way through. (Photo from last night.) I can't decide if I want to marathon though it quickly, or slowly savor it. That is how much I like it. Decisions decisions
The minute I saw this cover I was hooked. And THEN I learned it was about paladins and the hook was set. (I play a Harengon Paladin in my weekly d&d game.) Isn't this cover amazing?! I'm not sure when I'll get to this one but I am putting it near the top of my tbr since it sounds excellent. Also, for those that like hardcovers that version has another 2nd different cool photo under the dust cover.
