Another book I didn‘t get around to reviewing when I read it. Some old ladies are being honoured for their service in WWII and we find out the details of all the things they did and didn‘t do. It was an excellent read for a long haul flight, entertaining but not taxing.

AlaMich I agree! Normally I don‘t enjoy dual timelines in books, but this was so much fun it didn‘t bother me. 3w

Penny and Josephine Williamson appear to be sweet, little old ladies attended by their lovely nephew Archie but in actual fact they have a lot of secrets and history behind them, starting with their service in WWII and ending with a crazy caper in current day Paris. This was a delight to read and deeper than expected. Full review at http://booknaround.blogspot.com/2024/07/review-excitements-by-cj-wray.html

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel about two sprightly octogenarian sisters whose trip to Paris to be awarded the Legion D‘honneur brings back memories for both is a lighthearted romp with some depth to it. Recommended.

This utterly delightful book follows nonagenarian sisters Penny and Josephine in the current day as they are honored for their WWII service as we also learn about each of their pasts. I thought it would lighthearted throughout and while it‘s not, it‘s well balanced emotionally and the characters are terrific. I‘m hoping for more from this author.
