When a body is presumed to be her missing husband's, a woman must unravel the secrets of her own past to clear her name, find the truth, and put her conscience to rest once and for all.All Ruby wanted was a fresh start. But after an early retirement and a relocation to a tight-knit community with her husband, Tom, and her daughter, Lily, her new beginning takes a turn.First her troubled daughter and then her husband disappear without a trace. Unsure how to cope, grief-ridden Ruby turns to her neighborhood friends to find a way forward with new hobbies, including a murder club where they try to solve cold cases. But just as unexpectedly as her family vanished, a body floats to the surface of the nearby lake. And everyone is sure the body belongs to Tom...everyone except Ruby.Determined to find out what happened to her family once and for all, Ruby digs into her neighbors' lives, and her own, only to uncover secrets that raise more questions than they answer. And the biggest question of all--why doesn't she recognize the body?

Another WOW book. I think this is the best book Rea Frey has written and I've enjoyed a few of her books. This one literally caught me off guard. Up to the very ending I did not know who the killer was. I did have few guesses but I was wrong every single time. Good work. Well written. A must read for anyone who loves a good thriller.

Pickpick

This is an awesome (but convoluted) novel about Ruby who‘s out rowing one morning when she discovers a dead body floating in the lake. Both her daughter and abusive ex-husband are missing so…! And that‘s just the first page! Great page-turner and I love her others so don‘t miss this one!
#NetGalley

monkeygirlsmama I miss my Netgalley days. Maybe I'll catch up and get back over there sooner rather than later. This books sounds good! 3mo
Alfoster @monkeygirlsmama My mistake: this one was a Kindle Amazon monthly read and not NetGalley (though most of mine are as who doesn‘t love free books)! 3mo
monkeygirlsmama @Alfoster I know some people are anti-Amazon, but I love my Prime and Unlimited. ☺️ 3mo
Alfoster @monkeygirlsmama Agree! I seriously couldn‘t live without it! 3mo
