Time was definitely not linear in the writing of this story. I enjoyed the concept of it, though it was nothing new, making a deal with a devil. And considering that she could live as long as she wanted, that was a pretty good deal compared to most of the others he made. I was hoping that she would end up with Luc anyway, I was just bummed that even though she did…she really didn‘t. I enjoyed how she inspired all those artists.

The only serious book I‘ve read lately, finished early May but hadn‘t posted anything yet. Took me awhile to read this, I think because of the somber tone, but I loved it. Thank you to @katiekat311 for gifting me the special edition in a swap.

katiekat311 I‘m so glad you ended up enjoying it!❤️ 2y

A book is a gift to dream, to travel, to learn. This book was a gift indeed from a group of wonderful people that mean a lot to me. I have gasped, smiled, felt sadness, anger and joy throughout the story. Thank you for sharing this beautiful story with me💚 @Sharv_Sona @Lovelylottereader @AnnaSummer7 and the rest of the Golden Team ✨ I will always remember you.

“Being forgotten, she thinks, is a bit like going mad. You begin to wonder what is real, if you are real. After all, how can a thing be real if it cannot be remembered? It‘s like that Zen koan, the one about the tree falling in the woods. If no one heard it, did it happen? If a person cannot leave a mark, do they exist?”

4.6 ⭐

Somehow I put out this book months ago after reading 20%. I got notion in my mind that this book will definitely have a sad ending, brokenhearted, something that I would make me mop for days. But I was wrong, somehow the ending is fitting, some say it was anticlimatic, but for me it's just perfect.

Perfect perfect PERFECT 💃💃💃

"These are the words of a man - Voltaire. But they are also the hands that set the type. The ink that made it readable, the tree that made the paper. All of them matter, though credit goes only to the name on the cover."
