That was A LOT. Kind of par for the course for a Sandman book. A constant in this series: The art is spectacular (so much more impressive and varied than the cover art of these collections, still not sure why they went such a drab route), the subject matter is often unsettling, or sad, yet always there is a glimmer of joy, hope, humanity. I loved the concluding story especially. 1/?
Bit confused by the num ering of this set of bindups, as the reading guide in the back says this is the concluding volume of the original series run, but there are two more Sandman books according to Storygraph - extras with smaller page counts, I guess. I'm willing to pick them up, but probably not anytime soon. ⚠️gore 8mo
