I really liked the narrator, but the MC was awful and the story wasn‘t that good.
An aging actress inherits a bookshop from her aunt who inspired the MC‘d acting and broadway career with her own. From the moment MC returns to her small town, she‘s gets involved with arson and a murder and foolishly thinks she can solve them.
1/5 read for a self aggrandizing MC who makes foolish and short sighted decisions. The narrator is excellent

110 pages in. Even if it goes down hill from here this is still a 5 🌟 read for me solely for the fact that they've quoted Casablanca.

The.Great.Catsby Love this picture! Can we please talk about what you're drinking?! It looks so good!!! 5mo
cassareada @The.Great.Catsby Yess!!! It was a hot cocoa that i make. I like a nice warm cozy drink when I read around the holidays, so my go-to is cocoa or a home version of my coffee order -- Also, I apologize for the very late response. I dont get push notifications even though I have it set to get them 🙄 2mo
The.Great.Catsby @cassareada that's okay!! It Just means that we get to revisit this beauty of a post 😊✨️ 2mo

Booked for Murder was an Enjoyable Getaway. It has good bones. Set in a unique small town, with a wonderful bookstore, and characters I want to know better makes me keen to know what the author has up their sleeve for the next installment of this series.

Madeline left her hometown to pursue a career on the stage. She is drawn home when her aunt passes leaving Madeline her bookstore. However, it seems someone is missing determined to drive her away. I really liked Madeline, but had a hard time getting into this one. Some parts felt rushed (the beginning) and other parts dragged (the middle) which overall gave it a disjointed feeling. Thx to NetGalley and St. Martin‘s Press Schuster for the ARC.

I was accepted today for 3 more ARCs to read this Fall. I‘m going to have a lot of ARCs to read this Fall. When I looked on my Netgalley account, it shows that I‘m up to 9 ARCs now. I might as well enjoy reading whatever I want over the Summer because in the Fall, I‘ll probably only have time to read ARCs. If I can during the Fall, I‘ll try to fit in some books that are not priority reads but I‘ll just see what happens.
