I would use this book to teach the therese‘s of self love and acceptance, as it is a theme every child faces in life. It teaches children to embrace their differences and learn to love themselves.
pickPizza face shares the story of the middle school life of a boy named Gabe. Gabe works through the struggles in life with friendship, popularity, and self acceptance. It is an entertaining story and it brings emotions to life.
pickI like how the author doesn't shy away from talking about topics that bother a lot of kids. This one deals with puberty, but mostly just feeling uncomfortable with yourself. There is also a lot having to do with bullying, I like that this was dealt with in an understanding way. It was a good story, a great follow-up to the first book, though they don't necessarily have to be read in order.
