Most family reunions end in tears. This one will end in murder. On a private island off the west coast of Scotland, the Agarwals gather for a much-awaited family reunion... Raj, the patriarch and business tycoon, who has six weeks to decide how to split his petrochemicals empire between his three children. Shalini, the fragile mother, who longs to see her family healed. Myra, the eldest daughter and golden child, who, unbeknownst to the family, is on the brink of bankruptcy. Aseem, the son and supposed heir, who must choose between his wife and his family. Aisha, the fun-loving youngest daughter, who is tired of being treated like a child. And Zoe, the outsider whose #Instaperfect life is built on a foundation of lies. They've all got secrets that they would die to protect. But only one of them is capable of murder.

Well this is quite the slow burn until close to the end when it suddenly picks up. That ending though wow. I just knew it , I knew the truth. This is quite a dark and twisted story getting into the real heart of family lies and secrets. It does take a little while to get into it but once I did, I needed to know how everything fit together. The plot was interesting and kept me on my toes which each new twist and lie was revealed. #Netgalley 4*

TheLudicReader I can‘t seem to resist a book with a creepy house /mansion on the cover. 2d
kezzlou85 @TheLudicReader the cover is so creepy but the book is more dark and twisted with family issues. 2d

In families like these, secrets are sacred, and silence is the ultimate bond. 4⭐️ #jordysbookclub #mysterythriller

Myra, the oldest of the three living Agarwal children, has withdrawn to a remote Scottish island where she hopes to establish a luxury resort. When her family joins her there to celebrate her parents' anniversary, secrets emerge that threaten their happy facade. This extra twisty thriller was like an Indian version of Succession, with family dynamics that get less healthy the clearer they become. Have to say, I did not see that ending coming!

So I‘m not too sure about this. The writing is good and it kept me engaged. Succession like it is NOT. It lacks the intrigue and complexity of the writing on that show. I did like all the characters and the way the book was laid out with the two main women taking alternate chapters. It ends in murder they said and you do have to wait until then for the murder. Overall it was ok. The ending was so rushed I thought I‘d skipped at least 6 chapters.

A family gathers on a remote island for an anniversary celebration. Everyone has their own selfish agenda. Does everyone survive?
This one hooked me. None of the characters are really likeable and that is what made it interesting.

This book was insane! It made me irrationally angry at these fictional characters!

This ARC was 5/5, with a gripping plot with a few different storylines which all came together in the end. I did not expect the twist at the end at all and I‘m usually pretty good at figuring things out. Comes out in January.
