⭐⭐⭐⭐

This quick read is a fictionalized story based on Hoffman's research and knowledge of the Holocaust. Specifically what life may have been like for Anne and her family as they fought to live a "normal" life during the Nazi occupation before they went into hiding. A very well written, beautiful, and heartbreaking novel. #audiobook

Kenyazero I didn't see myself as a reader as a kid because I struggled with reading, but I liked reading Garfield comics (which I knew teachers and librarians were not impressed by) and eventually graduated to Sailor Moon manga from there, and then other manga. These items helped me figure out how my brain reads. I'm sure reading copious amounts of fanfics as a teen also helped 🤭 I started finding experiences I related to in these nontraditional reads. 3w
megnews @Kenyazero that‘s great! I think it‘s a shame when comics aren‘t considered reading. I have 2 daughters that are readers but my son had a lot of difficulty and I was happy when he read car magazines! 3w

Ok the epilogue read by Alice Hoffman has me tearing up over here. This is a relatively short (5 hours on audio) historical novel about the life of Anne Frank & her family just before they go into hiding. The audiobook is narrated by Matilda herself, Mara Wilson, who has a lovely smooth & easy to listen to voice. Highly recommended to anyone who loves HF, & anyone interested in Anne Frank & WWII. 5⭐️

JenlovesJT47 @CatLass007 I hope you enjoy it! 2mo
CatLass007 I hope so too. But I‘m not really sure that “enjoyment” is what I‘d expect to feel about even a fictional book about Anne Frank. But WWII fiction is something I‘m drawn to. 2mo

A new audiobook release I‘ve been waiting for! Beautifully crafted by Alice Hoffman, this HF speculates the days and weeks leading up to the Franks‘ move into hiding. Five 🌟
