Rules for Lying
Rules for Lying | Anne Corbitt
4 posts | 1 read | 3 to read
"After school, custodian Oliver Nix investigates a strange sound coming from the boys' locker room. What he finds rocks this suburban Atlanta community. Langley, a sophomore, claims she was forced, but Kevin, the accused, insists on his innocence while plotting his path out of town. His mother, Grace, defends her son despite having made a similar accusation twenty years before. Eleanor, Oliver's daughter, tries to reconcile her loyalty to best friend Langley, who created the rules for lying, with her unrequited love for Kevin. Rules for Lying follows the characters through a police investigation that makes them question their memories, allegiances, and actions, all while hiding secrets of their own."--

These are the last four books on my TBR list from this year's Decatur Book Festival. I think I may need to bump these to the top of the pile. Would be nice to have a reading list/challenge/thingie completed in 2016! 📚📚📚

Decatur Book Festival haul. I was fortunate to see each of these authors either as panelists or participants in the audience for other authors' sessions. Such an amazing weekend! If any of y'all are ever in The Atlanta area for Labor Day weekend, skip DragonCon & go to the Decatur Book Festival. Okay, okay, you can do both. 😆😝📚📚 #dbf2016

LauraBeth Someone said it seemed to be lighter crowds at dbf compared to last year. Did you notice? I wasn't able to go this year but when I mentioned it was today to my hubby, he was like, "that was this weekend?! We didn't hear a peep about it at work and usually they are constantly emailing us in advance about it (He works at Emory). His comment combined with my friend's comment made me go ?. Hope they had a big turnout! Nice haul btw ? glad you went 8y

Well-ReadNeck The big question is: what are you going to read first?!? @Theresa 8y
Theresa @LauraBeth This was my 1st year so I don't have a history for comparison, but I didn't think the crowds were bad at all. I arrived early so I could wander around & then once the sessions I wanted to see began, I was on a mission to get from 1 session to the next. I had 30 minutes between sessions & that was plenty of time to buy books, get them signed, & get to the next session. 8y
Theresa @Well-ReadNeck That is the million dollar question, isn't it. Foolishly, I committed to a TBR for September before the festival. Maybe I can still sneak 1-2 festival finds in this month. 😄 8y
