Finnish Style Recipes: A Complete Cookbook of Nordic Dish Ideas!
Finnish Style Recipes: A Complete Cookbook of Nordic Dish Ideas! | Julia Chiles
1 post | 1 read
It's actually quite simple. There not many truly fancy meals, but, rather, basic ingredients cooked with recipes from prior generations. The meals are fresh and filled with healthy ingredients. They use many unprocessed, natural foods like berries and whole grains. Yes, berries are big in Finland. From blueberries and lingonberries to cloudberries, they are used in many dishes, and not all of them are desserts. The modern cooking of Finland has incorporated techniques and concepts from Eastern and Western cuisine. Continental dishes like these are becoming more popular in Finland. Traditional dishes in Finland have wonderful flavors, although the styles of cooking do vary from one region to another. Traditional Finnish recipes are generally based on meat, fish and vegetables found naturally in the country. Some ingredients do vary, since not all are available in all areas. Finnish chefs use mushrooms more in cooking than they used to, as well. The dishes featured in Finland today are easily digested, since most of their ingredients are vegetables. Their dishes are often served in smaller quantities than in Western cooking. You'll enjoy learning the traditional ways that Finnish people cook. Try your hand at some of these special recipes soon...

I chose this cookbook for #foodandlit this month. I‘m behind on posting my reviews because I was waiting until I had actually made a recipe to post. But life had other ideas & I‘ve been sick the past week. I plan on making a recipe for almond cookies from this cookbook tomorrow & will let you know how it goes. 🙃 3.5⭐️ 50 points

TorieStorieS Hope you‘re feeling better!! Sick around the holidays is always the worst! 3d
JenlovesJT47 @TorieStorieS thanks! I always seem to get sick on Christmas Eve ☹️😌 3d
TorieStorieS My husband usually has to travel in January and he always comes home sick… but he feels like he caught a cold/sinus thing just after Christmas, so hopefully this means he won‘t come home sick next week! It‘s usually a toss-up if he gives it to me. Last year was a terrible flu and it was miserable, so I‘m hoping I escape the illness this year!!🤞🤞🤞 2d
