Made sweet and spicy pumpkin hummus for a seasonal book snack tonight 🎃🖤
I don't typically read physical books, but I tend to leave my kindle in my bedroom, which means it's not usually around me during the day. I'm finding that having a non-fiction in the living room is perfect for those rare free-time moments where I don't wanna scroll my phone, but my kindle is all the way upstairs. And since it's nonfiction, it's easier to jump in and out of.
Indicative of my meh attitude that I forgot to take a pic of this book before donating it. Very readable but ultimately superficial. This book wouldn't make sense to anyone who wasn't already familiar with Buffy and Kristin/Jenny as minor celesbians. It doesn't have enough compelling commentary on Buffy and their story -- they got divorced while making a podcast together and kept doing so -- isn't written in a super compelling way either. 🤷♀️
Been a minute since I read a physical book, but I got this one as a gift and am working through it slowly.
Anything can be a bookmark in a pinch... Dead leaf bookmark. Anyone else have one? 😅
Just got this today and so excited to start it! I love the podcast and the two hosts and I love Buffy so I hope this one is a win all around.
Tilney cameo because of course 😻
This one is for fans of the podcast Buffering the Vampire Slayer, which I've never heard. Bailed a few chapters in because I was hoping for more Buffy crit but this is more a memoir of the hosts.
That's not to say this is bad, I'm just not the audience for it.
