#12BooksOf2025 April Hey , don‘t get me wrong it was a good thriller. Sloane becomes a nanny for a well off family when she pretends she is a nurse ,yet come to find out this family that looks ideal on the outside have their own dark secrets. I usually read nearly 100 books a year , unfortunately, just managed a bit over 40 . This was my only completed book that month! 😄

Soft pick for this one. Finished on my way back home from vacation. A slow build (almost too slow) but some fun twists but unlikeable characters which really didn‘t help my buy in on the resolution. A good vacation read, but won‘t stick with me. This was a #bookspin for September (maybe #doublespin, I can‘t remember)

Twists and turns and so…many…lies that my brain couldn‘t keep up. I actually said at one point “wait, what did they just say?!”. I had to go back and make sure I heard the audiobook correctly 🤣. These characters are just awful but it‘s definitely an entertaining ride. If you like a good popcorn thriller like I do pick this one up! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Sloan never tells the truth and it‘s gotten her into hot water her whole life. Then she meets the Lockhart family and as a reader you‘re supposed to wonder who‘s lying to whom? It‘s mindless entertainment, but it‘s all tell and none of the characters‘ motivations are ever adequately examined. It was just okay for me.

Between pick and so-so. I expected a lot more. The premise of compulsive lying was attractive and the characters were unlikable. The climax had me confused though and I kept thinking I had missed something. 🤷♀️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
This book really had me saying, I wish people would leave me alone so I could just read!!! All the crazy, twisty lies had me glued to my book😱

Decent paced thriller with a good twist at the end. Is it believable? Absolutely not but still entertaining. The main character Sloan meets a handsome man at the park one day with his daughter. The young girl gets stung by a bee, and Sloan comes to the rescue because in that moment she decides she is a nurse. Sloane is a liar you see and these lies intertwine her into this family but the web of deceit does not only lie with her.

Finally! I‘m finished. I‘ve had so much going on in my life lately, I could only spend so much time reading. This is a good book; it‘s a slow burn, but it gets so much better toward the end. And the ending? Wow!

“knew I should stop, but I couldn‘t help it. I wanted so desperately for people to like me, and it was the only way I could think of.”

Wow what an addictive listen! I went through this in just a few days! 4 stars overall from me! Not sure if everything that happened would be plausible and at first it seems like it‘ll be similar to other thrillers but then ends up going its own way. Apparently it‘s going to be a Hulu series with Lindsay Lohan, so I will watch that when it comes out. If you suspend some disbelief it ends up being a very enjoyable ride.

Solid thriller! This is one I didn't want to put down. Also a very satisfying ending overall.

4.5⭐
•This has a couple of hard twists that I didn‘t see coming, and they made for a thrilling story that had me hooked, which is a rarity these days. The ending was a somewhat difficult pill to swallow, but it was fun in a completely unhinged way.
•Andrew Eiden, Devon Sorvari, and Emily Tremaine gave great performances, and I thought the way this was narrated was pure genius.

Unlikable characters, slightly predictable twists, and an abundance of sensationalism make this an addicting thriller and fun read!

Well , I didn‘t read it as fast as some of the reviewers, but I did enjoy this twisty thriller. Sloane lies about nearly everything, she had a rough beginning and uses her fibs to make her life more interesting than it is. She meets a handsome father with his lovely daughter at a the park, maybe a nanny gig ? Maybe something else ? Getting close to this family may be more than she bargains for !

“A read-in-one-night suspense thriller narrated by a compulsive liar whose little white lies allow her to enter into the life and comfort of a wealthy married couple who are harboring much darker secrets themselves. For the millions of us still chasing those gone girls, this is perfect for fans of Lisa Jewell, Lucy Foley, and Laura Dave.”

I enjoyed my #BOTM pick for this month! Fast-paced & entertaining, I read this in practically one sitting! Stava nicely mounts the tension in her debut where Sloane‘s lies add to the unsettling feeling as she inserts herself in the lives of Violet, Jay & Harper. The pace really picks up in the latter half with some real, satisfying surprises (though perhaps not perfectly plausible in the long run). It hooked me & I‘m excited for more from Stava!

Great twisty, twisty thriller. Didn‘t quite figure it out which made it even better.

I was so excited for this one but there was way too much going on. The amount of twists and turns was very distracting. Also very unrealistic. I loved the idea of story but quite a few times i was so confused i thought i missed something. This was a miss for me but i would try another book by this author if she writes one!

So excited that my hold came in on this! I watched the author on GMA this morning and listening to her talk about the book made me even more excited to read it! She also said it‘s in development for a show! Also my library makes the best bookmarks!

I had someone close who lied often about inane things. That silliness was enough to long ago convince me to be comfortable with who I am and the things that might seem weird to anyone else (ie, I really don‘t merge well😞). So I wasn‘t sure if I‘d be interested in a story of a consummate liar. The first twist came earlier than expected so I anticipated more and found this entertaining.

It's my birthday month for #BOTM (March), so I got to pick a free add on, and they gave a free Lolly pick, so I ended up with 4 books this month! 📚 What did you pick?
